Terms and Conditions.

Great Choice Glass — Last updated: May 2026

These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between Great Choice Glass ("we," "us," or "our") and any person or business ("you" or "the customer") who requests a quote, books a job, or uses our website at greatchoiceglass.com.

By requesting a quote, verbally confirming a booking, or allowing us to begin work on your property, you agree to these terms. Please read them before booking. If you have questions, call us at (403) 796 5485 before work begins.

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada.

Section 01

About these terms.

Great Choice Glass is a locally owned glazing business operating in Calgary, Alberta. We specialise exclusively in residential and commercial building glass repair and replacement. We do not service auto, vehicle, or windshield glass.

These terms apply to all jobs we carry out, including but not limited to: window glass repair and replacement, shower glass repair and enclosure installation, commercial storefront glass, custom glass work, bay window glass, and emergency glass board-up.

These terms may be updated from time to time. The version published on our website at the time of your booking applies to that booking. We will always tell you if terms have changed in a meaningful way before starting a new job.

Section 02

Our services.

We provide mobile glazing services throughout Calgary and nearby communities. We come to your property to carry out the work. We do not operate a walk-in shop.

What we do.

  • Window glass repair and replacement (single-pane, double-pane IGU, triple-pane)
  • Shower glass door repair, replacement, and frameless enclosure installation
  • Commercial storefront glass and office partition glass
  • Custom glass (table tops, shelving, mirrors, railings)
  • Bay window and specialty window glass
  • Emergency glass repair and board-up

What we do not do.

  • Auto glass, vehicle glass, or windshield repair or replacement
  • Window frame or sash replacement (glass only)
  • General construction or renovation work outside of glazing

If during a job we identify related work that falls outside our scope (for example, a rotted window frame that must be addressed before glass can be installed), we will advise you clearly. We will not proceed with out-of-scope work without your explicit approval and a revised quote.

Section 03

Quotes and pricing.

How we quote.

All quotes are provided before work begins. We do not start any job without your agreement to the quoted price. Quotes may be given verbally over the phone (for straightforward jobs we can assess remotely) or in writing after an on-site assessment.

Quote validity.

Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date they are provided, unless otherwise stated. After 30 days, material costs may have changed and the quote will need to be reconfirmed.

When prices may change.

A quoted price is final unless one of the following occurs:

  • On-site conditions differ materially from what was described when the quote was prepared (for example, the opening size is different, the frame type requires additional work, or hidden damage is discovered when deglazing).
  • You request changes to the scope of work after the quote is accepted.
  • Significant time passes between the quote and the job start, during which material costs increase.

If the price needs to change for any of these reasons, we will inform you before proceeding and give you the option to cancel at no charge.

GST.

All quoted prices are exclusive of GST unless stated otherwise. GST at the current applicable rate will be added to the final invoice.

Section 04

Booking and scheduling.

A booking is confirmed when you verbally agree to proceed with the quoted price and a date and time is agreed. We do not require a written contract for standard residential jobs, though one may be provided for larger commercial work.

Scheduling windows.

We provide an estimated arrival window for all appointments. We make every reasonable effort to arrive within that window. Unforeseen circumstances (traffic, a prior job running long, weather) may occasionally delay our arrival. We will contact you if we expect to be significantly delayed.

Access requirements.

You or an authorised adult representative must be present at the property when we arrive, unless we have agreed otherwise in advance. If no one is present when we arrive at the agreed time and we are unable to access the work area, a call-out fee may apply for the return visit.

Multi-visit jobs.

Some jobs require two visits: an initial on-site measurement visit and a second visit to install the glass once it has been fabricated to spec. We will make this clear when booking and confirm both appointments with you.

Section 05

Payment.

Job type Payment timing
Standard residential job Payment due on completion of the job, before we leave the property.
Large residential job (over $1,000) A deposit of up to 50% may be required before materials are ordered. Balance due on completion.
Commercial job Payment terms agreed in advance. Typically: 50% deposit on order, balance on completion. Net 14 for established accounts.
Emergency board-up Payment due on completion of the emergency service.

Accepted payment methods.

We accept cash, e-transfer (Interac), and major credit cards. Specific payment method availability will be confirmed at the time of booking.

Late payment.

Invoices not paid within 14 days of the due date may be subject to interest at a rate of 2% per month (24% per annum) on the outstanding balance. We reserve the right to pursue outstanding amounts through collections or small claims court under Alberta law.

Deposits.

Where a deposit is taken, it is applied toward custom or non-stock glass orders that cannot be returned once fabricated. If you cancel after materials have been ordered, the deposit may be forfeited in full or in part depending on whether the material can be repurposed. We will be clear about this before taking any deposit.

Section 06

Cancellation and rescheduling.

Cancellation by you.

  • More than 24 hours before the appointment: No charge. We will reschedule or cancel without penalty.
  • Less than 24 hours before the appointment: A cancellation fee of $75 may apply to cover scheduling and travel costs, at our discretion.
  • After materials have been ordered: If custom glass has already been fabricated to your opening specifications, you may be responsible for the cost of materials that cannot be returned or repurposed.

Cancellation by us.

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule an appointment due to circumstances beyond our control (severe weather, equipment failure, illness). We will contact you as early as possible and reschedule at a time convenient to you. No cancellation fee applies in these cases.

Rescheduling.

You may reschedule an appointment with at least 24 hours notice at no charge. Rescheduling requests with less than 24 hours notice are accommodated where possible and may be subject to the same $75 fee as a late cancellation, at our discretion.

Section 07

Workmanship guarantee.

We stand behind our work. Every job we complete is covered by our workmanship guarantee: if a defect in our installation causes a problem, we will return to fix it at no additional charge.

What the workmanship guarantee covers.

  • Improper glazing or sealing of glass into a frame
  • Glass not installed level, plumb, or square within tolerance
  • Leaks or draughts resulting from our installation method
  • Hardware (hinges, handles, tracks) installed by us that fails due to improper fitting

What the workmanship guarantee does not cover.

  • Damage caused after completion by impact, misuse, or third-party work
  • Glass breakage after installation from thermal stress, hail, or other external forces
  • Normal wear and tear on hardware over time
  • Issues arising from pre-existing frame damage, rot, or structural problems we advised you about before starting the job
  • Condensation between panes on IGUs after the manufacturer's sealed unit warranty has expired

To claim under our workmanship guarantee, contact us within a reasonable time of identifying the issue. We will assess and schedule a return visit. There is no charge for work confirmed to be a defect in our installation.

Section 08

Materials warranty.

Glass and hardware supplied by us carries the warranty provided by the manufacturer. We pass this warranty on to you.

Material Typical manufacturer warranty What it covers
Double-pane IGU (sealed unit) 5 to 10 years Seal failure resulting in fogging or condensation between panes.
Tempered glass panels Manufacturer-specific Manufacturing defects. Does not cover breakage from impact or thermal stress after installation.
Shower hardware (hinges, handles, tracks) 1 to 3 years typically Defects in materials or finish under normal residential use.
Low-E and argon-fill IGUs 5 to 10 years Seal integrity and coating adhesion.

Warranty periods vary by manufacturer and product. We will provide you with the specific warranty information for the materials used on your job. To make a warranty claim on a material, contact us and we will manage the claim with the supplier on your behalf where possible.

Section 09

Liability.

Our liability to you.

Our liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the value of the job in question. We carry commercial general liability insurance appropriate to the scope of our work.

Property damage during work.

We take care when working at your property. If we cause damage to your property as a direct result of our work, we will repair or compensate for that damage. We are not responsible for damage that results from pre-existing structural problems, hidden defects in a building, or conditions that a reasonable inspection would not have identified before the job started.

Consequential loss.

We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from our services or any delay in providing them. This includes, but is not limited to, loss of use of a room or premises, loss of business income, or costs incurred because of a scheduling delay.

Safety glass and building code.

All glass installed by us is selected and installed in compliance with the Alberta Building Code, Section 9.6 (safety glazing requirements). Where code requires tempered, laminated, or other safety-rated glass, we will use it and advise you accordingly. We will not install non-compliant glass in a safety-critical location regardless of customer preference.

Important: If you instruct us to install glass in a location we have advised is subject to safety glazing requirements under Alberta Building Code, and you decline the appropriate safety glass in favour of a non-compliant alternative, we reserve the right to decline the job entirely.

Section 10

Property access and site conditions.

By booking a job, you confirm that you are the property owner or an authorised representative with the right to grant us access to the property and to commission the work.

Tenants and strata.

If you are a tenant commissioning glass work, you confirm that you have obtained any necessary approval from your landlord or property manager. If you are a strata or condo owner, you confirm you have any required strata approval for work that affects common property or exterior glass. We are not responsible for disputes arising from work authorised by a tenant or strata owner without proper approval.

Safe working conditions.

We require a safe and clear working area. You agree to:

  • Ensure the work area is accessible and free from obstacles before we arrive.
  • Inform us of any known hazards at the property (asbestos, lead paint in older frames, unstable surfaces).
  • Keep children and pets away from the work area during the job.
  • Inform us if the property has any special access requirements (security codes, parking restrictions, etc.).

If unsafe site conditions prevent us from completing the work safely, we reserve the right to stop work and reschedule. A partial call-out fee may apply in this case.

Section 11

Website use.

The content on greatchoiceglass.com is provided for general information about our services. Pricing ranges stated on our website are indicative only and not a binding quote. An actual quote requires either a phone consultation or an on-site assessment.

We make reasonable efforts to keep the information on our website accurate and current. However, we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any information on the site. We are not liable for any reliance placed on website content without obtaining a specific quote from us.

You may not reproduce, copy, or redistribute content from our website without our written permission.

Section 12

Governing law and disputes.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.

If a dispute arises from our services, we ask that you contact us directly first. The majority of issues can be resolved quickly by phone or email. We are committed to resolving legitimate complaints fairly and promptly.

If a dispute cannot be resolved directly, either party may refer the matter to the Alberta Civil Litigation process, including the Alberta Small Claims Court for claims up to $50,000. Both parties agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta.

Nothing in these terms limits any statutory rights you have as a consumer under applicable Alberta or Canadian consumer protection law, including the Alberta Consumer Protection Act.

Section 13

Questions about these terms.

If anything in these terms is unclear, or you have a question before booking, contact us. We would rather explain something upfront than have a misunderstanding after the job.
